Tuesday Again (Amen)

24 May

My mind is a random jumble this morning. The air is smokey again. Not sure which forest fire is the source. The news media isn’t mentioning any fires this morning. Just suck it in and quit asking, they seem to be saying.

Harold Camping finally made an appearance. He says the people who listened to him –the ones who sold all of their possessions, quit their jobs, gave all their money to Harold’s organization to pay for advertising for the doomsday that never happened–should not have put their faith in him, but in God. By the way, he isn’t going to do anything to help them now. They should “turn to God and pray.”

If I was one of those people, I know what I’d be praying right now.

My prayer would go something like this: “Almighty God, if you don’t smite that old man, I swear to You, I am gonna smack the crap out of him!”

By the way, Harold says he got his wires crossed a bit. The Rapture AND the End of the World are going to happen on the same day–October 21, 2011.

Update your Outlook calendars accordingly.

I found an interesting website yesterday. It isn’t really related to Harold and Doomsday Prophecy, but it does have to do with values clarification, which is somewhat related if you squint and hop up and down on one foot. Or something. The web address (since I haven’t figured out how to actually post a link here) is http://the-burning-house.com.

The website is called, The Burning House. (Which makes sense.) The site poses the question, if your house was on fire, what would you take with you when you evacuate? People post images of the assemblage of things they’d rescue. I love these pictures and am tempted to submit one of my own.

Aside from the living creatures in my house, I am not certain what my priorities would actually be. The camera, the laptop, my current journal, what else? what else?

I don’t know. I’ll have to think this one over. I am feeling particularly clutter-bound right now, so I almost can’t see the treasures for the junk.  But the idea of submitting an image to The Burning House appeals to me, so I’ll have to give this some thought.

Tonight, at long last, is the Jackson Browne concert which I will be attending with my friend Mary. This is exciting for me on many levels. For one thing, it doesn’t start until 8PM. Being out of the house, after dark, on a work night at 8PM is wacky wildness for me.

Perhaps this will start a trend of unbridled madcap behavior in my life. That should provide some blog material…

Today’s Save the Word word is Pamphagous, which means eating or consuming everything.

Today’s Mantra is Sharing.

Interestingly enough, I chose these randomly and they seem to be nearly polar opposites. You can’t consume everything and share at the same time. Just as you can’t have your cake and eat it too. Some days I feel like behaving in a pamphagous manner and some days I feel like sharing.

Really, there’s plenty for everyone, no need to be a piggy about it…

Happy Tuesday. I’ll tell Jackson hello for you…

Time now to go struggle for the legal tender. Hmmm, that reminds me of a song…

I laughed so hard reading this that the Spunkster dog thought I had lost my mind!

Eating and sharining, huh? Interesting. We will be doing both tonight! See you at your place later.

And I just have to say it again – best way ever to celebrate my birthday! Love you!!!!!

In case of fire I will grab my dog and purse. I have the key to my fire proof safe with most of our valuable papers in it and everything else can be more or less replaced. I have a few antiques or at least vintage that I’d miss terribly but oh well.

Someone needs to make that old man return the money he stole from the poor.
